Just talking with Luke reminded her of her humanity. She was tired of feeling like some weirdo space alien. Diana had told her that her life wasn't bad and she was right but it certainly wasn't the American Dream that was for sure. More like An American Horror Story. The stuff she went through was just crazy.
Nodding her head she rose, shaking her head and smiling, "We need to go out more often. This keeps me grounded with reality, Luke. I need that. From what I've been able to piece together I'm going to be on earth a good long while yet. I'm not allowed up there for long." she says with a shrug of her shoulders. "Back to the rat race." she adds. She collected her purse and paid the check then headed out the door, their lunch break over as Karen exploded her cell phone with texts and she laughed. The day had gone well so far and it bode well for them, "So, have you thought about maybe chilling with Frankie after work? I usually have girl's night out with her but we can make it a non girl thing." she said with a slow smile, "She seems like someone you'd click with." she added in typical match maker fashion.

At Marina's comment that they should go out more often, Luke nodded. "We really should," he agreed. He hadn't really spent that much time with her recently and he was starting to miss her. He nodded sympathetically when she continued and said that it would appear that she was going to be on Earth for a while and wouldn't be able to go back to Heaven any time soon. "That must suck," he stated. She had sounded a bit wistful when she had said that and Luke couldn't even imagine what she was thinking.
Luke shrugged at Marina's suggestion about going out with a friend of hers and that they could make things a non-girl night. "I don't know," he answered. He still wasn't all that comfortable with people he didn't know very well though he was trying to interact more. At Marina's comment that her friend would be someone he would click with, he raised his eyebrows. "Oh, yeah? How so?" he wondered. What could he possibly have in common with this girl?

"She's shy like you. You might hit it off. She's a bit of a computer nerd." she smiled at him as they made their way back to the work that both awaited them. "She'll be coming in later. You should say hello to her and see if you two click talking wise. I mean if its just too awkward then you'll know straight off but its good to take a risk." she watched the roads pass by as they drove into the parking lot of Seraphim Foundation and she slipped out of the car, "Just think about it, okay?"
She turned and went to head back in, clutching her leftovers and waving to the secretary a moment before looking behind her for his reaction. Her well manicured eyebrows raised in curiosity at him before she smiled.

Luke listened intently as Marina explained that the girl was shy like him and that she was a bit of a computer nerd---her words, not his. "I like a girl who's passionate about her work," he commented and Marina continued on to say that Frankie would be coming by later and that he should say hello and see if they hit it off and if they didn't hit it off, he'd know right away but at least he would've taken the risk which was a good thing sometimes. And other times not he mused. "I might. She sounds pretty cool," was what he responded with out loud. Then, he got out of the car and headed in along with her. "Yes, I promise I'll think about it," he replied in answer to her plea. With that, he shook his head with a laugh and headed into the building.
