The candle wick was alight, a pointed flame standing so upright and undisturbed. It swayed slightly, but not much. It was suspended in the still air of the room as Lana moved towards it. A hand brushed her hair over the back of her neck as she blew the candle out, the smallest squiggly line left there as the white candles went out. There was nothing she could do now. Moving over to another candle, she blew the flame out, and then the very last one. Maybe artificial light would be better, or maybe scented smells weren't appealing to her today. Or it simply could be that she is grieving. Standing upright, her make-up was fine but obvious dark lines rested under her eyes faintly as she looked in front of her over the fireplace. On the support, four urns sat in a line. They were gold like their souls, and Lana had to have them cremated since - they were basically ash now anyway. The thought shot through her mind as with exhausted eyes, she looked at them and then turned away from them. Blonde strands hung back over her shoulder. It really happened. Evil really did it. The Brothers - were dead.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Lana's face fell into her hands as the flashbacks started again. FLASH! "Ev, look out!". Axel screamed, the exploding of energy booming against their eardrums. Lana covered herself from the debris, and soon glistened right next to Famine. Lana sent a hard low kick swinging into its center, and succeeded but a talloned hand clutched the back of her head, swinging her into the brick wall behind it as Lana fell to the ground. FLASH! "Lana, get everyone out of here". Xzavier screamed at her and she went to glisten a few people out, but then realized the Brothers were sacrificing themselves against the Horsemen. "What are you doing?", she shouted out at Xzavier, but then a burst of power launched at them. The first burst hit Everette, smashing him through the wall of there house which had seen better days. "Ev". She screamed, before another blast hot towards Cruise as he charged towards the four. He charged fast and strong, but a blast hit him. Cruise was shot under the staircase, causing the structure of the stairs to fall onto him. Everyone was - dying. A bright light emulated from the four as she looked to the three brothers left, along with the others. The light released, and a massive wave of power shot at the rest of them. Lana felt it hit her, and then it was a black out. FLASH! Under the rubble of the once-upon-a-time house, Lana strained to sit up as she slowly felt the feeling come back into her legs, her fingers breaking into place. But as she sat up, she saw it. The bodies of the ones she cared about lying over and under the remnants of the house, and the Horsemen were gone. She looked down at Xzavier, at Axel, at the long lost brother that she hadn't known for long, at Cruise, at Raye, at Ev, at Eli but helping get the few survivors out of the scene. FLASH!
Her eyes were watering again as she stared at the four urns, and didn't know what to do at this moment. It was a month today that the horsemen came, and it was a month today when the horsemen left. If they would come back is undetermined, but if they did - Lana wanted them to be ready. But the brother's were gone, most of Mari's team were gone and all they had was a 16 year old girl who can move through walls, three angels and some supernaturals still recovering from the incident. What could they do? Then she realized; where was Sam? He was probably at work or something, but she just felt a lot better when he was there. He was her big muscly security blanket, but right now she sat in the room and felt - really empty. Her phone was full of missed calls from Scarlette trying to get in touch with her, but Lana couldn't deal with work right now. She had another job to do, and that was to figure out what the hell they were going to do next. Running her hands through her hair, she got up and moved over towards the bathroom. Since they had lived in this place for around nine years together, pictures framed the mirror as Lana walked in, grabbing a towel and dampening her face as she pressed the towel on her face. She had lost everyone. Her parents, her brothers, her friends and her cousins. To rebuild - it just seemed like an invitation for more pain. Leaning against the fosit, she just stood there staring at the ground. She could really, really do with having Sam with her right now. The cons of having a husband who is a paramedic.

Sam was flying home from work. Who needed a car, when you could fly at super sonic speeds? It saved on gas, that was for sure. But he thought about the events that transpired that day. Thinking about the little girl whose life he had saved from a car accident. It was also one of those days, when he had to be careful about who saw his power. But when a life was in danger, he had to do what was necessary. The young girl's parents were in an auto accident, and while they were easy to get out of the car, the little girl was another story. She was trapped inside the back of the car, and the front of the car had been too damaged to just simply climb back to get her. Sam grabbed hold of the door and pulled it free from the car, tossing it over. The girl was rescued, and saved. When Sam got to the hospital, his driving partner asked him how he managed to take the door off. Sam shrugged and just replied that it had to do with adrenaline. It was the only excuse that he had at the time, and the only thing that he could think of. But as he headed back to the manor, he thought about how easy it was, and how much it was worth saving the child. It brought a light sense of establishment on who he was to his heart, and as he landed back home, he could not help but smile about what good he had accomplished. But as he opened the door, he could suddenly feel Lana's hurt. “Lana??” he called out. Walking down the main room, he looked around for her before finding her at last. “Sweetheart, what's wrong?” he asked, although he knew the truth. She was still distraught by what had happened. He knelt down, hugging her tight. His fairy princess. “I'm here.” he said.

The good thing about mirrors, they don't lie to you. They show you what's up to your face, and there is no way you can deny it. The darkness under her eyes, her blonde hair actually being able to stay straight-ish and the pain and anger in her eyes. They had stopped the Horsemen before, she couldn't see how this could be any different. It was almost completely unbelievable to the fact that in a few short moments, they all died. It was - unreal, that four entities could eliminate a team of heroes, a family - her family. Looking into the mirror, she then heard the worried call of Sam. Finally he was home, but being the little angel that he is he would be able to find her. So as she put the towel down on the sink, she heard the hurry of footsteps as he entered the bathroom. She didn't turn to greet him straight away. She wasn't punishing him, it wasn't his fault. It wasn't anyone's fault. But she couldn't help but sense that things had been a bit rocky for them since 'it' happened. But he was still there for her, no matter what. She was lucky.
"What isn't wrong? I am trying - to make everything okay for everyone. I am trying to help Mari out as best as I can, I am trying to be there for Riley and for you, and I - I just feel like such a failure right now". She said stressed, feeling his arms wrap around her. Okay, this made things better. She could feel his warmth, it just grew stronger over the years. And through all of Lana's shit, he was still there. He was still the strong shoulder for her, and she was grateful to have him here. No matter what, she never took Sam for granted - and won't ever. Her hand touched his as he hugged her from back, and she smiled slightly, eyes closed as she turned her head, her forhead resting under his chin. When he assured that he was there for her, she couldn't help but smile slightly again. "I know baby, I know". She breathed out in a whisper, and then looked down. "It's just hard to make everything better. They were older, they always knew what to do - what to say to make everything peachy keen, but I am really, really sucking at playing lead Evans right now". She sighed, still touching his hand.
There was still so much to figure out. The will had everything they own to go to Lana, but Lana wanted to redefine the will so that she could decided where some things go. She put a good amount of the house insurance into funds for the Seraphim Foundation, but she had to figure out what to do with Xzavier's car and everything else. The fairy god-mother was crumbling at the moment, and she didn't know how to put the broken puzzle pieces back together, and make a perfect picture of what she had to do right now. "Anyway, how was your day? Good before you come home to the super busy grieving train wreck?". Classic Lana, hiding her pain and emotions with sarcasm and wit. She has always done it, probably always will. And then again, Sam would probably know that.
