Trenton smiled as Marina stated that she was able to take care of herself. "Yes, something tells me that you can," he stated. Which he found incredibly arousing, if he did say so himself. The more he learned about her, the more he became intrigued by her. He just wanted to know as much about her as he could and from what she was saying, he already knew plenty. He then chuckled at her response to his thought. "You cannot really blame me. It is in my nature," he pointed out with a shrug. He was a predator. He was always on the look out for his next meal. As he said, it was in his nature to do so.
He listened with some interest as she explained that she didn't know why but his memories were returning and that she was trying to help him, adding that he could be possessive and prone to rush to judgment which sometimes made her uncomfortable "I am sorry. I am sure I never mean to make you uncomfortable," he apologized. Wow. That felt...odd...he was apologizing for things he had not even done yet. But why? Why would he even care? It did not make any sense. He was a vampire---a creature that was above everyone else. Why would he care what anyone else thought?
He then fell silent as she explained that she stayed with him because he was trying his best no matter what anyone said and that she had spent so much time being told what to do that she tended to cling to him, adding that maybe she was being defiant for the heck of it and that it took work to love someone that you didn't always agree with. "This is true," he agreed. He did not mind admitting that he sometimes got bored with people agreeing with him all of the time.

"This is true." she agreed as she stood there. "You shouldn't apologize for something you've not done yet. Things always work themselves out so I try not to worry." she said lightly, "Besides you were annoyed with me and rightfully so. You're entitled to make mistakes too." she shrugged and turned away. She didn't want to give him any more information then she needed to. Time passed as she spoke with him and she noticed that it was getting late. Rising from where she was sitting she turned to teleport back home. "I need to go. I shall see you soon. Don't bother seeing me out. I'll teleport its easy to do now that I know where you live." she added. It was still early. No one would looks askanse at her. That was when she glanced down at the paper. Married Marina Sinclaire to Trenton Moore
Marina Sinclaire and Trenton Moore were married last week at their local parish by Father... Her eyes grew wide as she looked from the paper to Trent. "What is this? What are you on about? You posted the bans for a marriage to me? You don't even know me and you're a vampire. Vampires don't get married. They can't even enter churches... WHY would you do something like that???" she kept her voice calm but it was obvious as she stood before him she was gobsmacked by the revalation, "Thats why the servants were polite. They thought you were moving my things in...." she said accusingly. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment and a bit of indignation, "I didn't sign anything. We didn't go before anyone this isn't real." she said as she turned away from him and went to calm herself down. She should just teleport away and leave him with his big lie. She was tempted to do just that. The stance of her body betraying that fact even as she looked away from him. Trent would have to act fast if he didn't want her to disappear on him.

Trenton smiled as Marina apologized and then went on to say that he shouldn't apologize for something that he hadn't already done yet. But that was the key word "Yet", which meant that he had done it, thus the apology was perfectly necessary. But he was grateful that the woman was being so forgiving. Not many women would be. Then again, he had a feeling that not many women would have the experience of time travel either.
When she said that it was time for her to leave and that she would teleport herself out, he felt himself growing alarmed. Had he done something wrong? He had thought that he was being a perfect gentleman, but perhaps he had let a bit too much of true nature out unintentionally. But no matter, he wasn't going to be a brute and force her to stay. Granted, he wouldn't care with any other woman, but he had a strong feeling that Marina wasn't just any other woman. "Have I...upset you?" he carefully asked. Then, following her gaze, he saw the time on the clock. "Oh! The time, of course," he realized. He hadn't done anything, it was just the hour that had her concerned, which was understandable. Yes, it would be imperative tht she leave now to avoid any type of gossip.
He turned to go back into his room when he was stopped by her exclamations over something she had discovered. Uh-oh. I have been discovered, he thought. He had a pretty good idea of what had her so upset and sure enough, she had seen the marriage bans. He opened his mouth to start to explain, but she didn't give him a chance, asking why he would do this if they didn't know each other, surmising that the servants had been polite because they had thought they were moving her things in, and then adding that vampires couldn't even enter churches and that since she hadn't signed anything, the marriage wasn't legal. All valid points, he thought to himself. "And yet if we are married, you staying here late will not be gossiped about. I know that as a time traveler, you most likely do not have anything that is yours around here, but if we keep up the appearances, your reputation will be intact until you are able to go back to your correct time," he told her once her tirade had finished. This wasn't the real reason he had done so of course: the real reason was that he desired her and did not want any other man---human or otherwise---to make a claim for her. But if she bought the reason he had given her, all the better. "If you agree to this, we would not have to do anything that a married couple would be required to do. No one would question a marriage of convenience," he continued.

She raised an eyebrow at his worried question, "Of course not. Its just its late and if I'm to head home with some semblance of decency then I should be on my way." she said to him as she picked up on his alarm. He was certainly having a hard time dealing with all of this. Not that she blamed him, it was a lot to take in all at once. Heck, even she was having a hard time of it and she knew what was going on.
She faced away from him, trying to regain her composure after what he had done. They still weren't on the best of terms in her time. This made things a bit awkward to say the least, "Angels look out for one another regardless of time and place. We don't have to necessarily worry about where to stay because we have homes all over." she said gently as she tried to calm herself, "Trenton, you don't know me. You're Jack the Ripper and you're expecting me to enter into a sham marriage with you." she sighed softly and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"And if I refuse to agree to this arrangement what then? You go on a killing spree in a fit of pique? I'm just very confused here, Trent. I've never been able to stop you from killing people when you got yourself in a snit in my time how am I supposed to stop you now? I have no garentee that you will stop killing if I agree to this. And even then its still very odd. I'm an angel. I can't become a vampire. Its just not possible." she was trying to be honest with him. Confusion was on her features openly as she regarded him.
"That and you're possessive. I know it and you know it. This isn't just about you being a nice guy. What is your real reason. Don't sugar coat it. I want to know. I don't want to be surprised by something later." she said firmly as she walked over to him and stared him directly in the eyes, "You've been in my life since I was 17 years old for one reason or another. I'm expecting you to be honest with me."

Trenton visibly relaxed at her response. He hadn't upset her, she was only worried about the lateness of the hour. Which certainly made sense. After all, no one liked to be gossiped about. And he wouldn't want her to be gossiped about either, though he was surprised that he felt this way about her. Normally, he'd just compel her into not worrying and then proceed with a dalliance of some sort, but for some reason, he just couldn't bring himself to try that with her. Maybe it was because she had told him that she was a time traveler and that they would know each other better in the future. Could anyone really blame him for not wanting someone like her to hate him?
He was somewhat relieved to hear that angels looked after one another, thus she would have a place to stay, as these weren't exactly the best of times for a young lady to be out and about at night, even one with Supernatural powers. "Well, if you are sure," he said reluctantly. He did not know why, but he just wanted to grab her and insist that she stay with him. But he instinctively knew that would be a bad idea. From the way she was acting, it was apparent that in her time they were not on the best of terms and he did not desire to do anything that would turn her even more against him. Therefore, if he wanted to get into her good graces, he would have to follow her lead. Why am I acting this way? I am the Ripper! I should be seducing her and making her want to stay! he silently thought to himself. And yet, he did not want to act that way with her. But why not? What was it about her that calmed him down like this?
Her questions gave him some pause. She did have a point. No one could stop him from killing, not even his wife, so what would be the benefit of this arrangement for her? Truth be told, he had intended to wine and dine as well as court her and then pop the question, but her discovery had put an end to that idea. "There are no guarantees in life my dear, but I can attempt to curb my nature," he replied. "And I have never been a traditionalist, so no one would bother questioning why I have not turned my wife," he continued. Which was true. Oh, the vampire king and his minions would wonder at it, but it was none of his business what Trenton decided to do with his personal life.
At her insistence for the truth, Trenton hesitated. How could he explain it when he did not even understand it himself? He wanted her, desired her, and marriage had seemed like the best solution. But now she was acting as if he had made a grevious error. Had he? Well, that is no matter! What I want, I get, he thought to himself. "I want you and what I want I get," he replied. Well, she did say I should not sugarcoat things, he thought to himself. "And besides, this way, you do not have to worry about unwanted attention from unsavorable men," he told her. "Ohter than me," he added quickly. There was no point in letting her point out the obvious.

"Trenton, I just feel so unsettled in this time and place. Its nothing personal I just don't know enough of this time other than hearsay and what they say in the history books." she said honestly, "For a time when everything is supposed to move slower it feels like everything is moving faster." she murmured and looked very lost. "I'm scared to be in this time. That I will say or do the wrong thing."
"Vampire blood burns me, Trenton. If you tried to make me drink your blood it would kill me." she said softly as she looked up at him. "And you were mad at me in my time." she sat down and wanted to curl into herself a bit, "A lot of things happened that you wouldn't approve of. You'd be ashamed of me. You yelled at me and got angry and it was my fault." she tried not to cry but her eyes welled up with tears.
"We haven't d-done anything like that." when he spoke of desiring her. Its been complicated. First my father...hurt me and then I got turned into a werewolf and got kidnapped and embarrassed myself. I-I'm not good enough for you, Trent. You deserve someone who isn't as messed up as I am. Whose reputation isn't in the gutter because of things that happened." She found tears running down her face and she shook. She'd tried so hard to keep everything together. To not just break down and lose it but in a strange place in a different time she just couldn't pretend to have it all together any more. The shame she had felt and still felt ate at her.
She shook and pulled out a handkerchief and began sobbing. It was like someone had opened the flood gates on her. Everyone expected her to be this great noble being or their girlfriend and she just felt overwhelmed. She began to feel an anxiety attack and forced herself to breathe slowly even as she shook.
