Trenton's eyes clouded as Marina hugged him. How could he have been so stupid as to not remember what she had told him about the affect of his blood on her? He could've killed her! You need to start thinking, Trenton, he berated himself. If he wasn't careful, he was bound to lose her. And that's not something that he wanted to happen...ever. These were the thoughts that raced through his mind as he pulled back slightly to look at her.
"I am sorry, Bella. I have put you through so much and you didn't deserve it," he apologized softly. And that was certainly the truth. She couldn't have controlled herself as a werewolf as she hadn't been entirely sure what was going on because it was a dang spell. Phillip was the one who had acted ungentlemanly. Marina had done nothing wrong.
It was obvious from her stance that Marina felt uncomfortable just standing around in his bathroom, not that he could blame her. It wasn't exactly the most spacious part of his house. So when she suggested that they get out of the bathroom, he nodded.
"Good idea," he agreed, watching her as she cleaned up. Normally, he would've told her to leave the mess---that he would have someone take care of it later---but he wasn't really sure she'd listen to him and who knew, maybe she just needed something to do to after everything that she had just gone through, which he could certainly understand.
He then followed her out of the bathroom, unsure of what to say. He had no delusions about her accepting his apology. He didn't deserve to be forgiven. He had let his anger and hurt cloud his judgment, and he had driven away the best thing that he had had ever had. Not that Marina was a "thing" to him, but their relationship had always been special to him and it would suck if he had ruined things between them for good.
"Is...is there anything I can help you with?" he offered hesitantly. He wasn't quite sure what to do here. He had majorely screwed up. He knew that. He should've listened to her and he hadn't. Maybe this was the wake up call that he needed...
