Only one of her friends new what had happened to her father. Riley had just told everyone that he'd been killed in an accident with her uncles. Now they tip toed around her, like she was some fragile doll. She hated it. She wanted to be normal, to hunt down what had happened to her father, and go back to being normal. But of coarse that wouldn't do, Lily would hunt her down and kill her herself. Riley had to go to school like every child without supernatural powers.
Riley hadn't been so tempted to go to the bathroom and phase through the wall and just leave. But she didn't she just went to the track where her friends wouldn't go, (mainly cause the goths hung out there) and sat quietly. What else was there to do? Where else could she go to be away from the egg shells her friends that didn't know seem to be walking on? So Riley found a perch and sat there, wondering what she was going to do this weekend... Where could she go to look now?

Breanna was trying to get through her gym class in this numb haze that one got after losing a parent. She supposed that it was worse for Parker, Jax, and Honey, having lost two sets of parents but she'd been so sheltered that for her it was like being punched in the guts repeatedly. She'd had to force herself to eat and found herself nauseous at the thought that her mother was rotting in the ground while she felt hungry. She just didn't want to do anything with anyone. This whole thing had turned her from a happy well adjusted girl to someone that waited and ran on her own on the track.
It sucked. That was why she ran into that girl on the track as she was running Stepping back she looked at Riley and blushed, "Oh, hi. Sorry. I just...was trying to avoid the crowd. I'm Breanna, Bree for short. You're Riley right?" she said as she jogged her memory for something about the brown haired girl that she tried to help. Flushing she offered a hand "Sorry, wool gathering. Nothing anyone would really care about." she added to forstall the "What about?" question. Of course everyone knew Bree's mom was dead. Word was around school she'd been shoved in a wood chipper ala Fargo which was a movie that had been made when her mothers mother was a teenager. Regardless it left Bree sick to think about it and it took everything to just keep moving forward.
She just wanted to go home and not have to look anyone in the face. Was that so much to ask? To be able to be home-schooled? She doubted she'd be allowed though. No one had the time to do that and it blew chunks in a major way as far ass she was concerned.
